A Double Pain, A Double Cure
Loosely tempered sugar, faux fur, plastic sheeting, sisal rope and salt
2021
The exhibition A Double Pain, A Double Cure, features a large-scale sculptural form filled with loosely tempered sugar, embracing error again as a catalyst. Neither liquid, nor solid, its caramel-adjacent substance is suspended freely in the space of the not-quite-not. Fluid enough to slide through the cracks of careful hands but firm enough to matte stray hairs. And amorphous enough for air-dried membranes that discourage sticky fingers and permanence.
